Prevention of childhood obesity and the development of healthy habits from an early age

Baby Food Factory, through its brand Nutrino, is launching a regional socially responsible initiative titled “Healthy Nutrition from the First Steps” dedicated to preventing childhood obesity and developing healthy habits from the earliest age.

The initiative has a clear mission: to educate, empower, and connect all stakeholders who influence children’s health and nutrition – parents, experts, institutions, media, suppliers, customers, and partners from the FMCG sector.

Why is this important?

  • Every third child in Europe is overweight, and similar statistics apply to Serbia and the region
  • Studies show that eating habits are formed by the age of five, making early education crucial for long-term health.
  • Early obesity increases the risk of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases in adulthood.

    Through this initiative, we will:

    • Collaborate with leading pediatricians and regional experts to create educational lectures and digital materials for the general public.
    • Develop practical guides and tools to help parents adopt healthy habits from their child’s first years of life.

The initiative will be implemented in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, and Montenegro.

Rooted in the values of responsibility, trust, and long-term sustainability, the “Healthy Nutrition from the First Steps” platform represents how business decisions, innovation, and social responsibility can act together.

Together, we are building healthier generations and a society that cares for its future.
