Nelt launched a pilot project for the RPA (Robotic Process Automation) platform implementation in its finance sector, and it is implemented in cooperation with Comtrade SI and Simplify.

Following the umbrella business strategy “Accelerate 2025” and the development of digitization, the project is focused on the automation of selected financial processes in the markets of Serbia, North Macedonia, and Montenegro.

On the last day of May, the first three robots were put into operation in the production environment, while further development and commissioning of four more robots is expected in the coming months. Current estimates are for the project to be completed in October of the current year.

Marko Cilić, Nelt Grup CFO, says that this is one of the tools we will use in the company’s digital transformation, to speed up, automate, and simplify our processes.

“Software robots (and automation in general) are here only to make our work easier, to relieve us of repetitive, manual tasks where possible, and thus free up our time for activities that we could not perform until now. They can potentially bring added value. By using RPA, we can get some reports more often and faster, without investing our time in their preparation. In the coming period, we want to continue to analyze the processes and see where we can use RPA as an aid for simplification,” Marko said.

The project also includes the transfer of knowledge as a basis for our future independent work on the development of new robots and process automation, not only in the financial sector but also in other sectors, which have shown great interest in the project from the very beginning.

Marko Jovanović, Head of Microsoft Business Operations – Adriatic Region, says that Nelt approached the implementation of software solutions in a very organized and systematic manner, and it represents a good basis for efficient scaling of the platform and a safe and quick ROI.

“RPA technology is the fastest growing segment of Enterprise software in the world, and we are glad that Nelt has recognized this by focusing on this technology as part of its digitalization strategy. Comtrade and Simplify’s implementation methodology includes not only effective technical development but also analysis of business processes per best business practices, workshops to transfer knowledge to the client, and the creation of an operational model that establishes the procedures and processes in the company necessary for the successful maintenance of robots,” Marko said.
