A CFO with a purpose

Nelt had a significant participation in the annual CFO conference organized by the Association of Financial Directors of Serbia. This time, the topic was “CFO with a purpose”.

The conference was attended by over 150 financial directors, consultants, bank representatives, macroeconomists, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Finance and financial institutions, and Nelt Group was represented by the leading finance team, as well as employees of Neoplanta and BFF.

The format of the conference is a combination of panels and interactive speed dating workshops while the topics included the presentation of best practices, the role of the CFO in the company’s strategic vision, ESG – sustainable business, dialogue with the Ministry of Finance, macroeconomic topics, and projections for the future. In addition, participants could take part in “workshops with a purpose”, that covered the spectrum from financial planning to the function of finance in the future.

Marko Cilić, Nelt Group CFO was one of the speakers at the panel discussion “Planning, reporting – trends, practices” together with MaxBet and Swarovski CFOs.

Marko also presented the Data Management project, as one of four good practices that were presented at the event. The focus was on the solution itself, innovative technology, the importance of the projects, as well as the important areas that need to be covered for such a large project in the field of digital transformation to come true.

“The most questions from the audience, after the presentation of all the projects, were related to our Data Management. The message from this workshop is that finance is a partner to business and that the amount of information is not important, but the fact whether they make a difference in decision making and creating new value,” Marco said.

After the workshop, Marko moderated the panel discussion “An Outlook to Macroeconomic Trends – Agility, Resilience, Adaptation”, and the guests were Zoran Petrović, chairman of the executive board of Raiffeisen Bank Serbia, and Dan Bucsa, Chief Macroeconomist CEE Unicredit Bank London.

“In a dynamic discussion, the guests gave their views on topics such as the trend of inflation, interest rates, stability of the banking system, real estate prices, and the impact of geopolitics on the economy. Both guests were moderately optimistic, with messages that inflation has reached its peak and is now following a downward trend and that the banking system in Serbia and the region is very stable,” Marko added.

Nutrino Lab products were the healthy snack of the conference.
