Nelt at Annual CFO Conference

On the 15th and 16th of May the CFO Association of Serbia (CFOAS), had organized an annual CFO Conference, marking its tenth anniversary, with the intent defined by its slogan “New Definition of CFO”.

The event was held in Hotel Fruske Terme in Vrdnik, and gathered more than 200 CFOs, international speakers, state representatives from the fiscal policy domain, macroeconomists, consultants, experts from the field of business digitalization, green energy resources, ESG and people management.

Nelt Group was represented by employees from finance as well as those from BFF, Neoplante and Banima. Marko Cilic, CFO at Nelt Group, was part of the organization board and moderator of panel “AI in Finance – Hype or Reality”, while Marijana Kricka, Logistics and Strategic Planning Finance Manager at Nelt Group, participated in the Workshop on Data Management.

The panel on artificial intelligence aroused great interest among the attendees. Benefits as well as areas requiring special attention – ethics and regulations – were discussed. Marko pointed out that AI is a reality, and that on one hand stock markets confirm this, but also a hype, because there was never more talk about artificial intelligence, even though there are not many examples of widespread application in all company operations.

“There is no reason to wait, implementation of AI should start today, each one of us can use ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot or some other tool. At Nelt, we already use AI for invoice reading, and the next step is planning. There is no magic formula and quick solutions, but gradual adoption, AI should make our work easier and improve productivity. The time of AI is definitely coming,” said Cilic.
