The “Tinkering with E-Waste” project demonstrates how partnerships between companies and educational institutions can inspire innovative thinking and promote a responsible approach to technology—preparing a new generation for the challenges and opportunities of a digital and sustainable society.

Nelt Group and UNICEF continue to inspire youth in Sarajevo
Presentation of the “Tinkering with E-Waste” initiative
Yesterday, at the Second Gymnasium in Sarajevo, the initiative “Tinkering with E-Waste” was presented as part of the partnership between our company and UNICEF. This project enables students to explore the world of innovation, programming, and sustainability by reusing old electronics.
During the visit to the school, representatives of our company, UNICEF, and the educational institutions of the Canton of Sarajevo had the opportunity to see the creative work of the IT Girls Club members, who turn discarded electronics into functional and inspiring products. So far, 25 schools from the Federation of BiH and Brčko District have participated in the project, which helps young people develop practical skills and digital literacy.
“Our partnership with UNICEF is a strategic and long-term investment in the future of our country. I’m glad that, thanks to the knowledge and skills they acquire, students will be better prepared for a digital and technologically advanced economy,” said Suzana Sikimić, Executive Director Nelt BiH.
Marko Lucet, UNICEF Representative in BiH, emphasized that this initiative is much more than a technology program.
“This is a concrete step toward transforming education and building a more resilient and greener society. Through projects like this, young people become creators, not just users of technology,” said Marko.
