With the support of our company, and within the strategic partnership between Nelt Group and UNICEF Bosnia and Herzegovina, the IT Girls Clubs Fair was held yesterday to mark the International Girls in ICT Day.
At the event, organized by UNICEF BiH and the citizens’ association “Laboratorium”, Sanela Vezir, Logistics Director at Nelt BiH, took part.
At the beginning of the program, a panel discussion was held featuring, alongside Sanela Vezir, Marc Lucet, UNICEF Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Tanja Madžarević, President of the “Laboratorium” association, as well as three members of the IT Girls Club.

Sanela Vezir emphasized that she is proud that the partnership between Nelt Group and UNICEF is already delivering tangible results and that Bosnia and Herzegovina is part of this collaboration.
“More than 5,000 children and young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina have the opportunity to develop not only digital but also green skills, which are essential for their education, employment, and active participation in modern society. We believe that in this way we will contribute to long-term change and leave a meaningful impact on the lives of girls and boys,” said Sanela.
In the continuation of the event, Sanela delivered a presentation titled “The right thing, in the right place, at the right time – every time: IT infrastructure and AI as the backbone of logistics excellence”, where she spoke about the differences between IT and AI, as well as their role in modern business.
Through an overview of logistics processes and principles of excellence, she presented what Nelt Group does and how the system operates, supported by the necessary IT infrastructure that enables efficient daily operations. Special focus was placed on the practical application of IT and AI solutions, as well as the results such an approach brings in improving efficiency and service quality.

The event also included a tour of exhibition stands, where girls from the IT Girls Club presented their projects to visitors.
Around 100 participants attended the fair, while 25 schools from across Bosnia and Herzegovina showcased projects developed within this year’s theme, “Tinkering with e-waste”. The event was attended by students, teachers, parents, representatives of UN agencies, educational institutions, and partners from the private ICT sector.
International Girls in ICT Day is a global initiative by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), observed since 2011 on the fourth Thursday of April, with the aim of empowering girls and young women in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and encouraging their careers in the ICT sector.

The IT Girls initiative is implemented by the citizens’ association “Laboratorium” in partnership with UNICEF in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with financial support from Nelt Group as a long-term strategic partner in advancing education and youth skills development.
