World Bee Day marked by planting honey plants in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Today, on World Bee Day, began the planting of honey gardens as part of the “Plant a Tree, Save a Bee” campaign, in which our company and Mondelēz International are participating, by planting honey plants in the park of the Federal Institute for Agriculture in Sarajevo. During the entire campaign, a total of 10,000 trees of these plants will be planted throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On this occasion, a press conference was organized at which Mirsad Bektasevic, Sales Manager at Nelt Bosnia and Herzegovina, Marko Prelic, Sales Manager at Mondelēz International for the Bosnia and Herzegovina market and Munib Huseinagic, Member of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Beekeepers Association and President of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Beekeepers Association addressed the journalists, officially marking the start of this socially responsible project.

“With the second campaign, exectuted in cooperation with our principal Mondelez International, at Nelt Group level, this time in Bosnia and Herzegovina, we once more confirm our strategic commitment – to be an important pillar for the community in which we operate and a reliable partner to our associates.” With these initiatives, we are improving the environment and strengthening local capacities for sustainable development. Remaining true to our values, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to social responsibility and sustainable development through each and every aspect of our business operations,” said Mirsad.

Marko Prelic, Sales Manager at Mondelēz International for the Bosnia and Herzegovina market, said that this campaign symbolizes our commitment to the community and the planet.

“On this day we are happy to be able to, together with our partners, contribute to the creation of new honey gardens throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina and in this way have an impact on the preservation of biodiversity and the protection of these important pollinators.” In the local communities where we operate, we strive to be initiators of positive changes in the areas which the community finds the most need for,” said Prelic.

The Member of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Beekeepers Association and President of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Beekeepers Association, Munib Huseinagic, said that today is a particularly important day for beekeepers and expressed immense gratitude to the companies which have launched the first initiative of this kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
