“The greatest challenge today is not growth itself, but ensuring that growth is sustainable. Sustainability is an integral part of all our business decisions and investments. Through our Ascend 2030 strategy, we are building a more efficient and competitive system capable of meeting increasingly complex market demands. By shifting towards intermodal transport and green energy, we are transforming the way goods move across Europe,” said Vuk Mijanović.
Nada Stamatović, Sustainability Expert at Nelt Group, also spoke about the importance of sustainability for business development.
“Regardless of the different industries and markets in which we operate, our shared goal is to create long-term value for employees, customers, consumers, partners and communities. The reports we are presenting today confirm that sustainability significantly strengthens business resilience, drives innovation and enhances long-term competitiveness,” said Nada.

As part of the event, a panel discussion titled “Intermodality in Practice: Partnerships for More Efficient, Resilient and Greener Supply Chains” was held and moderated by Ivan Milićević, Operations and Development Manager for Intermodal Transport at Nelt Group.
The panel featured Đorđije Marković, Sales Director for the East Adriatic Region at Maersk, Radman Šelmić, Advisor to the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia for Green and Circular Economy, Nedim Begović, Coordinator for Green, Multimodal and Innovative Transport Solutions at Transport Community. and Tamara Tošić, Regional Director for Food and Agribusiness for Southeast Europe at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The reports reaffirm the companies’ commitment to integrating sustainability principles into their business strategies and day-to-day operations. Through the advancement of sustainable supply chains, investments in energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, responsible food production, employee development and support for local communities, Nelt Group, Baby Food Factory and Neoplanta continue to create long-term value for customers, consumers, partners and society as a whole.
Over the past two years, Nelt Group has continued investing in renewable energy through the development of solar capacities, the implementation of heat pumps and geothermal energy solutions, as well as the enhancement of transport operations and the development of intermodal transport. During this period, more than 115,000 TEU were transported by rail between key European ports, avoiding the emission of more than 36,000 tonnes of CO₂.

A significant part of the companies’ activities has also been dedicated to community development. During the past year, a three-year partnership with UNICEF worth USD 1.3 million was launched, aimed at improving education and developing digital and green skills among children and young people in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia and Angola.
The sustainability reporting of Nelt Group, Baby Food Factory and Neoplanta is aligned with the methodology of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), one of the most widely recognized international standards for sustainability reporting. The application of this framework enables stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of the economic, social and environmental impacts of the companies’ operations through standardized and comparable performance indicators.
In line with the practice of biennial reporting, this year’s publication marks Nelt Group’s sixth Sustainability Report since 2014, while Baby Food Factory and Neoplanta are publishing their standalone Sustainability Reports for the second time.
