Nelt is a participant in the SPATRA (Space-Based Applications for Transport Monitoring and Management) project, implemented in collaboration with the European Space Agency (EUSPA) under the auspices of the European Commission. The project was launched in January and will last for two years, with the intention of upgrading transport through European satellite technology innovations.

SPATRA aims to develop innovative applications for road and rail transport and logistics using the European network of satellites and vehicle and drone positioning technology. The main task is solving key challenges in transport and logistics, improving the efficiency and sustainability of transport in Europe, raising awareness of the European satellite technologies Galileo and Copernicus, as well as promoting and accepting them in countries outside the EU.

“Our company, in synergy with Zentrix Lab, is participating in the development of an application for road transport with the focus on better predicting the time spent at border crossings, as well as the availability of truck parking lots near border crossings where drivers take breaks, prescribed by law. This information will help transport companies improve efficiency, reduce risks of delays and optimize transport routes. The task of Nelt’s team is to contribute to the creation of the application utilizing its vast knowledge and experience,” said Andrej Doskovic, International Services Sales & Development Manager.

Andrej added that the project is the result of the synergistic activities of the companies and will bring significant benefits to the transport community.

Nelt is part of a consortium consisting of the following companies: OHB (Germany) Twist Robotics (Ukraine) Zentrix Lab (Estonia), Zentrix Lab (Serbia), University of Nis (Serbia), and is participating in the SPATRA project in the role of end user of road transport services.
